27,322 Venezuelans returned to the country through the border

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported on Wednesday that a total of 27,322 Venezuelans have returned to the country through the border with Colombia and Brazil.

In statements from Miraflores Palace, Rodríguez explained that of the more than 27,000 Venezuelans who have returned, only have been confirmed 23 positive Covid-19 coronavirus cases.

In this sense, she indicated that, despite all the measures taken by the National Executive, Colombia continues to be the first country that has imported the most the virus to Venezuela.

It should be noted that at the border, the National Government authorized several epidemiological fences to attend to the nationals who were returning to the country, fleeing from xenophobia and humiliation.

Given this situation, the Executive Vice President announced that, starting this Wednesday, the nationals who requested to return to Venezuela and who are deployed in South America will begin to return to the country:

«Tomorrow will return to Venezuela compatriots who were throughout South America. The return of our brothers and sisters begins, the isolation protocols are underway”, she said during the press conference.
