Venezuela recognized as refugees citizens of Syria, Colombia and Saharawi

This Thursday, refugees from Syria, Colombia and Saharawi received the notification of recognition of refugee status by authorities of the Bolivarian Government, in an act held at the theater of the Ministry of People’s Power for Defense.

The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, who was accompanied, among other authorities, by the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruíz, told the refugees: “We consider you all as part of this Homeland, our Homeland,” thus giving a welcoming to this group of citizens.

Minutes later, during a meeting with the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, in the Yellow House, Arreaza highlighted the delivery of 300 certificates and reiterated the commitment of President Nicolás Maduro with this group of citizens hosted in Venezuela.
