Agreement between Venezuela and the UN WFP is a great achievement of the Bolivarian Government

As a great international achievement of the Bolivarian Government, President Nicolás Maduro described the signing of the agreement with the World Food Program (WFP) of the United Nations (UN).

During the development of a new Productive Wednesday journey, the Head of State commented that during his meeting with the Executive Director of the aforementioned organization, David Beasley, was also agreed on the joint work between Venezuela and the WFP to strengthen the food supply in all sectors of the country.

The National President explained that the WFP World Food Program will provide food assistance to children in initial education, in its first phase in Falcón state, to later be extended to all Venezuelan territory.

President Maduro also commented that after the official act of signing the agreements, held on Monday April 19 at Miraflores Palace, a private meeting took place at the facilities of La Casona (former presidential residence), today converted into the “Aquiles Nazoa” Museum and Cultural Center, with the assistance of some members of the Executive Cabinet and the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, where he had the opportunity to discuss future initiatives of interest to the agri-food sector in the country:

President Maduro stressed that Venezuela values ​​this support to optimize the food security and sovereignty system of the Venezuelan people, which includes to date 18 support and food assistance programs, the first of them the CLAP, which in total serve more than 15 million Venezuelans.

He recalled that in addition to the Clap, the PAE School Feeding Program, Nutrichicha, the Food Houses, the Supply plans to the Socialist Mission Bases, among others, are part of this protective shield.

It is worth remembering that on Monday, April 19, the Constitutional President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, signed an Understanding Memorandum for the provision of assistance with the heads of the World Food Program (WFP), an entity that is part of the United Nations system. United (UN), an initiative that underpins the commitment assumed by Venezuela with the 2030 Agenda and the objectives for sustainable development, as well as the integral protection of the Government of the Venezuelan people.
