COVID: Venezuela registers 817 new infections and a 93% recovery rate

This Sunday, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported through her account on the Twitter social network that Venezuela registers a total of 817 new infections of Covid-19, of which 815 are from community transmission and 2 cases are imported from Ecuador, who entered through La Guaira state.

In this regard, Rodríguez assured that the Capital District continues being the entity with the highest number of cases with 220 infections in 21 of its 22 Parishes. Followed by states Miranda (141) and Monagas (97).

Regarding the statistics, the Vice President of the Republic reported that Venezuela registers a total of 151,123 infections, of which 140,758 are recovered patients, thanks to the free treatments guaranteed by the Bolivarian Government, which represents a rate of 93% recovered. Currently, the country has 8,872 active cases.

Likewise, she regretted the death of 10 Venezuelans due to this virus:

In Caracas: two men aged 62 and 73, respectively, and a 65-year-old woman.

In Aragua: two men, 59 and 75 years old respectively.

In Bolívar: a 66-year-old man.

In Lara: a 69-year-old man.

In Yaracuy: a 67-year-old man

In Nueva Esparta: a 59-year-old man.

In Zulia: A 59-year-old woman.

Thus reaching the unfortunate figure of 1,493 deaths due to Covid-19

Similarly, Rodríguez stated that “In response to the recommendations of the Presidential Commission for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19, President Nicolás Maduro today announced a series of measures for the protection of the people against the P1 and P2 variants from Brazil. Let’s be extremely careful!”

In this sense, she specified that “As of tomorrow, Monday, March 22, the radical quarantine begins for 2 continuous weeks, which includes the Holy (Easter) Week. We urge the Venezuelan people to strictly comply with biosafety measures. Awareness and prevention are the key in this fight!”
