March 5: Venezuela maintains with loyalty and in anti-imperialist resistance the legacy of Commander Chávez

March 5 is a very special day, of a lot of heartfelt, and if we know something, it is that we have Chávez present and live in our being, our thoughts and actions, in every day of our lives; In every battle we fight, Chávez comes with us, in front and by our side”, expressed in 2020, on a day like today, President Nicolás Maduro Moros, when from the 4F Barracks, where Chavez’s last resting place is, in Caracas, the people offered him a popular chanting 7 years after his physical departure.

Loyalty is something that is measured and tested every day and our people have shown enough awareness, commitment and the tears that 7 years ago ran through fields, towns, cities and avenues of Venezuela and the heartfelt oaths to keep their legacy alive, have been met”, confirmed the Head of State at that opportunity to pay tribute to the Venezuelan people.

On March 5, 2013, amid indescribable national pain, Venezuela and the world reacted to the statements that Maduro himself, then in his position as Executive Vice President, announced:

– “At 4:25 this afternoon, Commander President Hugo Chávez passed away. We convey to his relatives and to all our people our pain. In this intense pain, of this historical tragedy (…) we call on all Venezuelans to be vigilantes of peace, of respect, of the tranquility of this Homeland”.

These were the first words of the message that the Constitutional President today offered to the Venezuelan people and to the world. The news paralyzed Venezuela due to a wave of sadness that affected all Venezuelans in good faith and traveled all corners of the country and even the planet.

– The absolute demonstration of the people was evidenced by a massive, impressive and historical popular mobilization through the streets of Caracas to the Military Academy in Fort Tiuna, where the Burning Chapel was installed. There, Maduro, who assumed as interim president as established by the Bolivarian Constitution, took up a replica of the sword of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and placed it on the coffin, wrapped in the Venezuelan tricolor flag.

– Initially, 10 days of national mourning were declared, which was then obligatorily extended for other days, given the great avalanche of crowds of people who came from all over the country, even the most remote and who later accompanied Chávez to the 4F Barracks where he was sown in history.

– In the burning chapel, crowds attended, thousands of people from all national and international sectors, to offer their posthumous farewell and their oath of defense to his thought and action for the people. Artists, athletes and sportsmen, cultists, peasants, fishermen, farmers, politicians, soldiers, policemen, musicians, housewives, students, the elderly, women, men, youth, children, everyone.

Several world leaders made an appearance and personally made guards of honor next to the coffin, registering scenes of a high symbolic value. Then-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received a standing ovation when he took his place alongside Chávez. He then he broke the protocol to touch the coffin and clench his fist, excited, in a revolutionary salute that went down in history.

– Jesse Jackson, the black American civil rights leader, participated out of his own initiative in some of the religious events at the ceremony. “Today a great nation cries and laments,” he said about Venezuela. Hugo fed the hungry and raised the poor. He raised their hopes and helped them realize their dreams,” he acknowledged.

– Jackson took the opportunity to ask the US government to heal the “gap” that he had created against Venezuela since the inauguration of the Bolivarian President.

What no one knew at that time is that just two years later, in 2015, Barack Obama would sign the infamous decree that declared Venezuela an “unusual threat” and with which he would “justify” the illegal and criminal actions with his coercive measures that purportedly called “sanctions”. Precisely, the government of then President Donald Trump would renew that unilateral legal obscurity several times, the last of which was precisely on March 5, 2020.

– “They chose this day to renew the infamous decree. Every day we renew our disposition and our combat morale as Bolivarians and Chavistas of the 21st century,” said President Maduro, a year ago, at the 4F Barracks.

“The Commander told them: “Make no mistake, it is not Chávez, it is a people, “and we have demonstrated that we are a people that Commander Chávez educated. It has been worth it, and this fight is worth it ”, replied the Head of State.

There was loyalty, combat and victory and there will be more victories. Let the devil swallow the traitors, because here is a loyal people, men and women today more aware than ever ”, he asserted.

Chávez is more future than past, a dream not yet concluded

The dignitary recalled that the Socialism of the 21st Century under construction is Christian, humanist, our-American and Bolivarian. The world admires Venezuela and its people because, in a courageous manner, its people have convictions, the ability to create answers and solutions, and show an anti-imperialist resistance that has allowed them to win the right to peace and development.

“And I can say today, brothers and sisters, it has been worth the fight and we have shown that it can be done, a thousand empires have come upon us and we are standing, victorious, in peace”, referring to the attacks that until then moment had perpetrated the criminal empire and its following lackeys.

Maduro invited good Venezuelans to Miraflores Palace “Because this is Chávez’s house. Here is Chávez, because Chávez is the people (…) Chávez is not past, of course he built stories and rescued the distant history of Venezuela, but with his strength of ideas and spirit he is more future than past, it is today’s obligation, it is the impulse of tomorrow, is a dream not finished, not yet achieved ”.

That March 5, 2020, Maduro affirmed to the beloved and noble people of Venezuela that all revolutionaries and revolutionaries are winning with supreme loyalty the right to live in peace and find the paths of prosperity, happiness and development.

Prepared for combat in the name of Chávez. We will continue in victory and loyalty,” said President Maduro a year ago, with an incredibly prophetic vision, taking into consideration the multiple aggressions, economic blockades, financial persecutions, asset looting, assassinations, military invasions and frustrated terrorist plans in just 12 months.

We have new challenges for the days, weeks and years to come. Will there be combat? There will be combat; Are we ready? We are ready and wherever they put anything on us, we will respond and the answer will always be one: the victory of the people in civic-military union”, he predicted.
