Chancellor Arreaza: “The hoarding of vaccines in rich countries puts life at risk throughout the planet”

The Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, considered the grabbing of vaccines against Covid-19 by the rich countries of the world as a reprehensible fact and assures that this action puts life at risk throughout the planet.

In a message posted through his Twitter account, @jaarreaza, the Chancellor of the Republic also denounced that “Canada has many more vaccines than is necessary for its population.”

Likewise, he expressed: “Why do they want to accumulate more, for blackmail or will it be another business of a humanitarian nature?”, while calling attention to where human rights lie.

Although Canada has acquired more doses per inhabitant than any other country in the world, this fact did not stop them from taking 1.9 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from the Covax mechanism, a global vaccine exchange initiative coordinated jointly by the World Health Organization.

The hoarding of vaccines in rich countries puts life at risk across the planet. # Canada has many more vaccines than is necessary for its population. Why do they want to accumulate more? Blackmail? Another humanitarian business? And what about human rights?”
