The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, requested the deputies of the National Assembly (AN), that before June 24, the Communal Parliament and Communal Cities Laws be debated and approved, in order to pay tribute to the Bicentennial of the Battle of Carabobo:
“I expect the National Assembly (NA) to approve before June 24, the Communal Parliament Law to elect the communal parliamentarians, thousands of deputies of the Communes. Communal Parliament, compadre, that will be beautiful!”, he expressed from the People’s Balcony, in Miraflores, where this Saturday during the commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the civic-military victory of January 23, 1958 and the defeat of the self-proclaimed puppet of the US.
Regarding the importance of such legal regulations, President Maduro stressed that “I also expect the Law of Communal Cities to be approved before June 24, we have proposed to found and articulate 200 communal cities this year. Power, Power, People’s Power!”
Likewise, the Chief of State pointed out that with the Communal Parliament Law, thousands of inhabitants of the organized communities will be able to elect among their neighbors, with the automated machines of the CNE, between 4 and 5 thousand communal parliamentarian men and women throughout the country.
He also ratified that only with the Bolivarian Revolution, the quantity and quality of the People’s Power will be guaranteed in communities, neighborhoods, towns and cities.
“If something must remain as an indelible mark for the rest of the decade, towards 2030, I ask, deputies, Executive Vice-President, Ministers, People’s Power and Great Patriotic Pole, if something must be consolidated, expanded and strengthened in the year of Carabobo, it must be the Communal Power, the Power of the Communal Councils, the workers’ and students’ powers”, he urged.
Likewise, he assured that this 2021 must be seen as a year of optimism, brightness and love. “I believe it is the first year of a great revolutionary counteroffensive that will last throughout this decade 2021-20302.
In closing, President Maduro reflected that “Commander Chávez said: ‘we are going to 2021’. Commander, we are in 2021 as you wanted, with the people free, victorious, independent. We still have a lot to fight for, infinite Commander, a lot to give. I can say today, January 23, 2021, here are the people of Bolivar, Guaicaipuro, Rafael Urdaneta and Antonio Jose de Sucre; here are the people of Ezequiel Zamora, let’s continue building the People’s Power”.
