“At 91 years old, we can say: Teacher Hugo de los Reyes, Oak of the Plains, fly high, may God have you in his heights and in his protection forever!”, expressed this Tuesday the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announcing the unfortunate news of the death of the father of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías.
From his WhatsApp Web account, the head of state sent an emotional recorded message to the family of the Revolutionary Commander, to the teacher’s wife, Mrs. Elena Frías, to his children, grandchildren, granddaughters and countrymen of the Barinas state, where he is from. the family of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution:
“I spoke with Adán and conveyed my words of solidarity to his grandchildren, to his granddaughters, to all his countrymen from Barinas and to all our people in Venezuela, because today the landscape has changed, the teacher Hugo de los Reyes Chávez has left, the oak from the plains, 91 years old who until the last second was firm, lucid, loyal, in combat, thinking about his people, his countrymen and women, his people.”
The president recalled that a few days ago, during a political event at El Poliedro in Caracas, he shared with the veteran politician and teacher, whom he gave a hug and they remembered the past struggles for the people of Venezuela:
“It was pending to see each other again, when we were at the Poliedro, it was very exciting to see him at that event at the Poliedro, very exciting for me and for Cilia, because we loved him a lot since we met him in 1992, when he headlined with Doña Elena the Bolivarian solidarity committees. He was always loyal to Commander Hugo Chávez and Bolivarianism. I counted on his friendship and his total absolute loyalty, on his advice, on his affection, on his good humor.”
“Mission accomplished, Teacher, we will continue in battle for you, and you give me a greeting to Commander Hugo Chávez over there!” he said, with contained emotion.
Finally, the head of state once again extended his condolences to all men and women of good faith in the nation, and asked to pray to the Almighty, “for the good soul of Master Hugo de los Reyes. May God have him in his glory. Blessings!”
Hugo de los Reyes Chávez was born on January 6, 1933, in the city of Barinas, he was a school teacher and politician, who governed his native state during the 2000-2004 and 2004-2008 terms.
