This Tuesday installs the new National Assembly with Chavista majority

This Tuesday, January 5, the deputies who will make up the new National Assembly (AN) with a political majority represented by the revolutionary forces of Chavismo integrated in the Great Simón Bolívar Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) will be officially installed in their seats.

In the parliamentary elections of last December 6, 2020, and which were called by the National Electoral Council (CNE), Chavismo swept 3,558,320 votes in the first bulletin announced at dawn on December 7 by the president of the National Council Electoral (CNE), Indira Alfonzo, with 82% transmission at that time.

This result rose in the next few hours with the information issued by the highest authority of the Electoral Power, stating that with 98% of the records scrutinized; the GPP got 4,277,926 votes.

With these results, the Chavista forces conquered 257 seats out of 277 in total, within Parliament for the period 2021-2026, which represents a support of 91.3% of the votes, according to the latest official CNE bulletin.

Likewise, of the 48 seats by national award, 37 were won by the alliance of the revolutionary forces.

For this new legislative period, the perspectives are focused on strengthening democracy, making the AN a space for permanent debate and dialogue for the benefit of Venezuelans, reaching agreements aimed at rescuing the legislative function and the interests of the State.
