COVID: Venezuela reports 227 cases this December 1

Venezuela begins the month of December registering 227 new infections of Covid-19, 191 of community transmission and 36 imported cases, as announced the Sectoral Vice President for Communication, Tourism and Culture, Freddy Ñañez.

From his Twitter account @LuchaAlmada, he reported that the community cases are distributed by state in: Zulia (88), La Guaira (34), Capital District (32), Miranda (26), Mérida (7), Nueva Esparta (1), Yaracuy (1), Táchira (1), Monagas (1).

He highlighted Zulia as “the entity with the highest number of infections in 7 of its municipalities: Maracaibo (78), Mara (3), San Francisco (2), Miranda (2), Valmore Rodríguez (1), Simón Bolívar (1), Cabimas (1)“.

The also Minister for Communication and Information, explained that of the 36 imported cases, 30 came from Colombia, 24 with entry through Táchira state and 6 from Zulia state; 4 from Peru, with entry through Táchira state, and 2 from Panama, with entry through La Guaira state.

He also confirmed that to date 102,621 cases have been registered, of which 97,562 patients have been recovered, which represents a recovery rate of 95% of infections.

Currently, there are 4,158 active cases in the national territory, of which “4,132 are being treated within the public health system and 26 in private clinics,” said Ñañez.

In turn, he regretted “4 new deaths from this virus: 2 men aged 57 and 80 from Táchira state, 1 woman aged 74 from Mérida state, 1 man aged 60 from Lara state. Condolences to their relatives, ” wrote the minister.

«The four weeks of wide flexibility have begun, it is important that we maintain biosafety measures throughout the month of December, the virus continues to circulate in the streets and it is on us to maintain the flattening of the contagion curve to be able to enjoy in peace and in the family of the holidays ”, emphasized the communications chief.
