The Venezuelan authorities welcomed on Tuesday 197 Cuban doctors who arrived in the country to join the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by the head of the Cuban Medical Mission in Venezuela, Dr. Reynol Delfín García Moreiro.
In this sense, he explained that 197 new doctors are incorporated into the health personnel in all popular clinics of the country, which adds 1,300 doctors in recent months thanks to the permanent concern of the National Government to improve and attend to the health of the Venezuelan people:
“The health of the Venezuelan people reflects the permanent commitment of Commander Hugo Chávez, and of Fidel Castro, who tomorrow (Wednesday, November 25) will have his fourth anniversary in eternity, so in this way are being met the dreams, the wishes and commitment of both Commanders,” he added.
The doctors will move to the states where there are the highest number of positive cases of COVID-19, in order to strengthen the community care network for the investigation, capture of cases and the development of the epidemiological fence, he said.
He stressed that everything is to control and avoid the sources of contagion of the coronavirus pandemic, with the strategy that has been applied, the house-by-house visits, the detection of cases and the support for the training and the continuation of the work of the Barrio Adentro Network, being the most important for the National Public Health System.
