COVID: Venezuela registers 807 community, 30 imported cases and totals 63,346 recovered

A total of 807 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 30 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, raising the total number of infections to 73,528, of which 63,346 have successfully recovered, which is equivalent to 87 percent of cases.

The information was released on Monday by the Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, during a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), at the end of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19.

Regarding the cases of community transmission, he explained that they focused on:

Capital District: 196 new cases in the 22 parishes of the capital, concentrating the largest number of cases in: El Valle with 34, Sucre (Catia) with 32 and Caricuao with 21 infections, among others.

By State:

Miranda: 151 new cases.

La Guaira: 97 new cases.

Nueva Esparta: 54 new cases.

Zulia: 53 new cases.

Yaracuy: 51 new cases.

Táchira: 41 new cases.

Aragua: 37 new cases.

Anzoátegui: 31 new cases.

Amazonas: 26 new cases.

Apure: 21 new cases.

Portuguesa: 12 new cases.

Cojedes: 12 new cases.

Guarico: 10 new cases.

Bolívar: 8 new cases.

Carabobo: 4 new cases.

Lara: 1 new case.

Barinas: 1 new case.

Monagas: 1 new case.

Meanwhile, regarding the imported cases, he indicated that 29 are coming from Colombia and 1 from Brazil. To date, 9,025 nationals infected with COVID-19 have entered the country, of which 7,919 have arrived from Colombia.

As of this Monday, there are 9,568 active cases, of which 5,619 are in hospitals, 3,516 are in Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 433 in private clinics.

Regarding the current condition of the patients, he specified that to date there are: 5,808 asymptomatic patients, 2,395 have mild acute respiratory failure, 1,157 have moderate acute respiratory failure and 208 are in intensive care units for presenting a serious condition.

On the other hand, the Minister regretted reporting the death of eight people due to the COVID-19 infection in the last hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 614.

The deaths were: two men aged 53 and 45 from Aragua state; two men aged 56 and 76 from Táchira, a 73-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman from Sucre state, a 39-year-old man from Zulia and a 71-year-old man from Apure state.

It was known that the number of diagnostic tests for COVID-19 applied up to date totals 1,939,282, which is equivalent to 64,642 tests per million inhabitants.
