Freddy Bernal, head of the National Command Center for Local Committees for Supply and Production (CLAP), during the “La Hora de los CLAP” (The CLAP hour) program, broadcast by Radio Miraflores, explained that by the end of 2017 the goal is to expand the Supply of products from these stores.
“We are experiencing an economic war, excessive speculation, speculation with food, personal hygiene items, household goods and clothing, and before that, gentlemen of the bourgeoisie, do not pretend that President Nicolás Maduro is going to sit with you to negotiate the protection of the people, then we will create the CLAP stores. ”
Bernal urged entrepreneurs not to fall into the game of economic war. “If you increase the prices and speculate against the people, we will fight to protect the people and we will do it through the CLAP,” guaranteeing a fair trade.
During the year 2016 the CLAP reached 1,945,000 families, equivalent to 3,250,000 people, and from the goal set by President Maduro the goal is to serve 4,000,000, to reach 6,000,000 families; a commitment that they hope to meet in a first phase on March 12.
