President Maduro highlights work of firefighters amidst the pandemic

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted on Thursday the work carried out by the country’s firefighters, amidst the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic:

«Today August 20, 2020, is National Firefighters Day and we must give them our gratitude, our applause, all the support to the firefighters of the country, we must feel proud. I feel like one of you”, said the Venezuelan head of state in a message to the firefighters participating in the ceremony of graduation and decoration.

In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the National President acknowledged the work carried out by the fire corps throughout the country, with the journeys of disinfection and mass screenings, among others.

In this sense, he urged the Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol, to support the officials and carry out the social demands necessary for the sector.

“Reverol must support them in every socio-economic thing we have, with housing, health, with their careers;, support them at the highest level”, he emphasized.

This Thursday took place the graduation and decoration ceremony of the Fire Corps, in which participate 58 firefighters and 142 students of the National Training Program on Sciences of the Fire.
