MP appoints special prosecutors at the border to prevent illegal entry of nationals

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, informed on Thursday the Public Ministry has appointed special prosecutors in border states, in order to prevent the illegal entry of Venezuelans coming from other countries in the region.

During his address at the headquarters of the Public Ministry, in Caracas, Saab explained that the prosecutors “will be specifically in the Apure, Táchira, Zulia, Amazonas, Delta Amacuro states, in order to take measures, along with the security agencies, about this matter”.

In the face of the crisis generated by the pandemic in countries of the region, those nationals who had abandoned Venezuela are returning in conditions of vulnerability, for which the National Government has established on the border zones the Integral Social Care Program (Pasi) in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 in the country.

In this regard, some compatriots have violated the sanitary bridge and are entering through illegal trails, thereby putting at risk the health of the residents of border states, as well as that of their relatives.
