President Maduro: This year there will be elections in Venezuela

“This year there will be elections in Venezuela and we are ready to impose the popular will through votes”, stated the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, at the events to celebrate the 199th Anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo and the Bolivarian Army Day, held from the National Pantheon.

Maduro was emphatic in mentioning that elections “are the only way to get out of this tragedy” in which the radical opposition converted the National Assembly.

In this regard, he stated: “We are going to renew the Parliament with votes, and with the will of a people who wants peace”.

Referring to his administration, the President of the Republic stated that in January 2022 the process to collect signatures for the holding of the revoking referendum will be opened.

«In January 2022 will open the period to collect signatures for the calling for a referendum to revoke President Nicolás Maduro. I will happily abide by whatever the people decides at its time”.

“We have a Constitution that guarantees us a State with rights to solve any problem together with peace. I am a defender of the right to peace, of the peaceful struggle of the peoples”, he said.
