President of ANC ratifies elections of deputies to the National Assembly this year

The president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, ratified on Wednesday that this 2020 the elections of deputies to the National Assembly (AN) will be held in free, transparent, universal and secret elections, despite the conflicts that have been evidenced in recent days between sectors of the right wing bench.

In a press conference granted from the spaces of the Federal Legislative Palace, in Caracas, Cabello reiterated his rejection of the internal confrontation amid the election of the new board of directors on January 5:

«The confrontation in the parliaments is not unprecedented, the unprecedented thing here is that 2 groups from the same sector, the one that opposes the revolution, are fighting each other. They have lost political sanity only because of their ambition to manage resources”, said the constituent.

In his statements, the political leader described as public, notorious and communicational that again, without quorum, deputies who three months ago appeared in graphic images hugging cordially, are starring acts of violence between themselves within the hemicycle:

“We will not paralyze the country because the AN does not work, the ANC can act in the face of inoperance, we comply with informing the parties involved in this sad spectacle that we are observing, we will not allow them to destroy this palace”, he warned, while also rejecting the aggressions by sectors of the opposition against journalists of different media and provocative actions against members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

Finally, Cabello reported that on Tuesday, January 14, the militancy of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) along with the Venezuelan people will take the streets to march and defend peace, given this new conflict generated by the Venezuelan opposition whose objective is to destabilize the country:

«Ideally, President Nicolás Maduro would submit his annual message to the AN; that will depend on Mr. President, in the sense that the internal situation of fights between them (opposition) will tarnish an act of a national nature. In any case, the ANC will always be there to cover the spaces that we have to cover. The Constitution is very clear, we can make the necessary decisions for the functioning of the State through the ANC, anyway there is still time”, he said.
