Venezuela totals 285 infected cases and 10 deaths by coronavirus

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced on Monday 29 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country, totaling 285 infections.

From the Simón Bolívar Press Room of Miraflores Palace in Caracas, she indicated that 7 of the new cases are registered in Miranda state, one in Portuguesa state and 21 in Nueva Esparta state.

In reference to the cases of Nueva Esparta state, Rodríguez detailed that the focus of infection in the entity was generated by three people who were linked to the Roberto Vahlis minor league baseball school, who have infected 63 people so far.

In this regard, the Executive Vice President reiterated the importance of abiding by the current social quarantine, as well as the use of the face mask and the measures progressively announced by the National Government.

On the other hand, was confirmed the death of a 67-year-old man who had been in intensive care since April 4, and whose situation was delicate.

With this figure, the death toll rises to 10 deaths from the outbreak, while the number of recovered people remains at 117.

As of today, a total of 11,575 Covid-19 screening tests have been performed per million inhabitants, and now totals 347,236 screening tests.
