President Maduro celebrated historic OPEC + agreement

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro celebrated this Thursday the historic agreement reached between the OPEC + countries and crude oil producers regarding the cut in oil production.

Through his official account on Twitter, the Head of State stated that with this decision “we contributed to the stability of the oil market and the recovery of the world economy and finances”.

Following this, he said, “I congratulate all the delegations for their great capacity for dialogue and understanding”.

It should be noted that hours before, the Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum, Manuel Quevedo, wrote via Twitter that the Venezuelan Government supports the initiative of Saudi Arabia and Russia to stabilize the world oil market, in the framework of the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Countries Petroleum Exporters (OPEC).

Optimistic Venezuela:

Likewise, on April 7, Venezuela called on producing countries that are not part of the OPEC + declaration of cooperation to join efforts to achieve a market balance amidst the “unprecedented” situation that the world oil industry is going through.

The head of state Nicolás Maduro expressed his optimism before the meeting scheduled for this Thursday, April 9, between the members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners, despite the disagreements of the meeting on February 6.

The government team of President Nicolás Maduro was in contact with Russia and Saudi Arabia to promote a consensus towards the new cut for the recovery of crude oil prices, a measure that they consider vital for the recovery of the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic.
