Growth curve of COVID-19 new cases is flattening in Venezuela

The growth curve for new cases of Covid-19 is flattening out in Venezuela, as informed this Saturday the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez.

He specified that this has been possible thanks to the efforts of the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro, who decreed a social and collective quarantine, as well as the requirement for gloves and face masks in transportation and public places, the disinfection of areas of common use, among other protection measures:

“The social quarantine is giving results, it is the only thing that manages to stop or curb down the growth rate and allows us to go looking for cases to give the corresponding treatment”, he said.

He indicated that, would the social quarantine had not been respected and of having the behavior the United States has had during this pandemic had been, as of today, more than 50,000 infected patients would have been reported in our country.

He also pointed out that if they had not taken measures in time, as other countries in the world did, today would be reporting more than 5,240 positive cases and approximately 180 deaths.

Up to date, Venezuela has registered 155 positive cases of the virus, 52 recovered and 7 deceased.
