Venezuela ratifies solidarity and support for Turkey for devastating earthquake

Venezuela expressed its condolences to the population and Government of Turkey for the unfortunate earthquake of magnitude 6.68 that left a balance of 35 fatalities and more than 1,200 injured.

Through a communiqué issued by the Chancellory, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ratified Venezuela’s solidarity and support for the Turkish nation.

Following, the full text of the communiqué disclosed by the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs:

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Government, expresses his deepest condolences and manifests sincere words of solidarity to the brotherly people and government of the Republic of Turkey, after the earthquake occurred on January 24, whose epicenter was located in the city of Elazig.

This unfortunate fact that has left a balance of at least twenty-two (22) dead people, hundreds of wounded, multiple missing and collapsed buildings, also causes pain to our people, and thus the entire Venezuela transmits its most heartfelt words of support and comfort to the relatives of the victims, as well as the disappeared, extending their prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and the material reconstruction of the affected localities”.
