Chancellor Jorge Arreaza accused this Tuesday to the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, of planning a military strategy against Venezuela with the aim of generating a coup d’etat:
«There is a diplomatic policy that is present, we can see it with the coup d’etat and recently Mr. Pence promoting through the social networks a military coup in the country», he said during the «Geopolitics of natural resources in Venezuela» conference, at the UNEFA (University of the Armed Forces).
Last Saturday, the US vice president urged FANB members to «join the people» and «restore democracy». Arreaza reiterated his rejection of the comment published by Pence on his Twitter account, and pointed out that the US government wants the FANB to forcefully support the chairman of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó.
On the other hand, he stressed that «Venezuela accompanies the US people in their struggle for freedom.» The Chancellor assured that the United States deserves a future that is secure, democratic, prosperous and with social justice.
«The oppressed of the United States deserve to prosper in a country free of supremacism», he said on his Twitter account in response to another tweet from Pence, where he ratified his support for the opposition deputy.
