Culminates delivery of electoral material for DEC-9 elections

The rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Sandra Oblitas, reported on Wednesday that the delivery of electoral materials to each polling station has been completed, ahead of the municipal council elections to be held this Sunday:

“Today we are already completing the radial deployment, that is, the positioning of the electoral as well as the electronic material, voting machines, as well as the cotillion in each of the electoral centers. With this we would be ready for Friday to make the installation of the tables”, she explained during an interview reported by AVN.

On Friday they will do the verification of the electoral material and the installation of the voting tables.

The rector notified that up to the time of the 15 audits, nine have been carried out, among them voter registration, voting books, machine files, software, among other elements. The missing audits respond to citizen verification.

“In this sense, we are completely in tune for next Sunday to realize that election of councilors at a national level”, she said.

These elections will be attended by international members of the Council of Latin American Electoral Experts, a group from Belgium and a national observer delectation of 600 people.

Oblitas recalled that this Thursday at 12 o’clock at night the electoral campaign ends. She also stressed that voters still have 284 points distributed throughout the country where they can meet the candidates and become familiar with the voting process.

On December 9 will be held the municipal elections, to elect 4,900 councilors, with their respective alternates. Of the total, 1,703 will be elected nominally, 685 by lists and 69 by indigenous communities.
