Chancellor Arreaza denounces US interventionist calls

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, qualified the United States Government (US) as warmongering after the State Department issued a statement on Tuesday that favors violence and violation of the sovereignty of the South American country.
The brief is attacking the process of dialogue established since last Monday, between members of the Constitutional Government and opposition representatives in the main headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; According to the US, the initiative seeks to «sabotage the National Assembly».
«With this statement, Washington not only attempts against the National Dialogue Board, but also assumes itself as the main author of the threat of the use of force against Venezuela, openly violating the UN Charter when invoking the TIAR»,» denounced Chancellor Arreaza in his account on Twitter.
The statement expresses that the illegal economic sanctions against the Venezuelan people will not be lifted «until Maduro is gone.»
Although the White House reaffirms its invocation to the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR), this mechanism does not apply, because in 2012, Venezuela sovereignly decided to leave the treaty along with nations such as Bolivia and Nicaragua.
Before Washington’s announcement of a meeting with «partners to discuss multilateral economic and political options» against Venezuela, the foreign minister was categorical stating: «The US Government once again demonstrates its warmongering character by underestimating the processes of political dialogue that are developing in a sovereign manner in Venezuela. For the Trump administration, peace and understanding are bad news. ”
