Venezuela explained to the High Commissioner the scope of the blockade in Venezuela


Venezuela asked the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations (UN), Michelle Bachelet, to interfere in accordance with her powers so that the economic resources belonging to Venezuela that are blocked in international accounts are released in order to meet the social needs of the Venezuelans.
Those responsible for making the request were; the Vice President of the Planning Sector of Venezuela, Ricardo Menéndez, in the company of the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Development, Aristóbulo Istúriz, and the ministers of these areas, in a meeting with the UN official
In this meeting held at the headquarters of the Chancellory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Caracas, the causes of the coercive and unilateral measures imposed by the United States Government against the Bolivarian nation were shown.
The statement to the press was made by the Minister for Planning, Ricardo Menéndez, who explained that, of these financial resources being released, social investment can be maximized, such as the purchase of medicines, food and other needs of the population.
He made reference to the fact that the nation supports the model linked to respect, sovereignty, democracy, self-determination of the peoples, and rejects the violation of the human rights of the entire Venezuelan people.
He explained that the country has been the victim of a systematic attack propitiated by US imperialism that affects the national economy and the income levels of the Republic.
