Venezuela denounces EE UU for criminal blockade

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, denounced the Government of the United States in a press conference he offered, to show the evidences of the blockade that said Government advances against the nation as a measure of pressure against the country: “It advances a war in the information, diplomatic fields, in the OAS (from where we retired), an economic and real war of financing of violence, of attacks to the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro”.
“The UN Security Council has not taken a decision to sanction Venezuela. Then, how can the US say they will sanction our country without complying with the procedures of the Charter of the United Nations?” he pointed out.
“The blockade against Venezuela is a criminal aggression. What authority did the United Nations gave to the United States to violate the UN Charter?” questioned Arreaza.
In this sense, the Venezuelan diplomat said that these actions by the US only seek to damage the socialist model before the world: “Attacks of the so-called sanctions have gone to the heart of the socialist model to say that the model fails. It’s a bombing, a war! ”
“The US not only carries out sanctions against Venezuela, it also pressures banks and institutions. These circumstances oblige us to defend ourselves before the threats of the US Government”, he said.
