Venezuela expresses condolences following the death of Governor of Puebla and her husband

The Venezuelan government issued a statement on Tuesday expressing its deepest condolences to the brotherly people of Mexico after a fatal plane crash that killed the governor of the State of Puebla, Martha Érika Alonso, and her husband, Senator Rafael Moreno Valle.

The helicopter in which they were traveling collapsed 10 minutes after taking off, between the municipalities of Santa María Coronango and Tlaltenango, in the vicinity of the international airport of Puebla.

In the aircraft, which was bound for Mexico City, were also the two pilots, Roberto Coppe and Marco Antonio Tavera, as well as Moreno Valle’s assistant in the Senate, Héctor Baltazar.

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, expresses his deepest condolences to the brother people and Government of the United Mexican States at the unfortunate passing of the Governor of the State of Puebla, Martha Érika Alonso and of his lord husband, Senator Rafael Moreno Valle, after the collapse of the helicopter where they were traveling.

Before this difficult moment that mourns the family and friends of Governor Martha Érika Alonso and Senator Rafael Moreno Valle, the Bolivarian Government deeply affected, moved and in the spirit of solidarity, transmits words of encouragement and fraternity in the face of this irreparable loss.

On behalf of the Bolivarian People and Government, we accompany the Government of the United Mexican States, raising our prayers, making the occasion to express our full support and support after this fatal event.
