Saúl Ortega: Tutelage goes against international law

The Vice President of the International Relations Commission of the National Constituent Assembly, Saúl Ortega, was very clear in pointing out that any attempt to tutelage the country goes against international law.

“That an imperialist or colonialist power seeks to tutelage the government goes against international law”, agreed the constituent in reference to the recent resolution of the European Parliament calling for the suspension of elections scheduled for next May 20.

“That pretension to protect, to say that they will not acknowledge the results, is not in our Constitution, here the sovereign is the people, the only one that acknowledges or not any election”.

Ortega, during an interview on a private radio station, described as shameless the position taken by Honduras, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia, whose Governments have questioned the issue of electoral guarantees and have said they will not acknowledge the next Government.

The Constituent assured that “The people are clear on who are the enemies of the Homeland, and the punishment will be electoral”, and thus he insisted on his pointing out to the Venezuelan opposition, a sector that in his opinion has lent to the economic blockade and has been promoting a military aggression against the country.
