Caravan of migrants became a stone in the shoes of the Lima Group and the OAS

The exodus of Venezuelans, intentionally presented by several governments of the region as an expression of the alleged humanitarian crisis that Venezuela suffers, has taken a back seat on the international scene in the face of the forcefulness of Central American migration.

The caravan of migrants who departed Honduras two weeks ago on their way to the United States: “Has ruined the harassment of these countries towards Venezuela,” says Franco Vielma, a columnist for the Misión Verdad (Mission Truth) web portal.

The caravan, which groups about 3,000 people, according to estimates of the United Nations (UN) has become a stone in the shoes of the OAS and the Group of Lima, said Vielma during an interview in the “Diplomacia Bolivariana” (Bolivarian Diplomacy) program, led by William Castillo, vice minister for International Communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the signal of the RNV Informative channel.

This fact “politically discredits the position of the Lima Group, declaring it de facto as pseudo-political authorities outside the regular instances of international law that try to regulate the policy around the Venezuelan case, and that do not have a level of correspondence with the fulfillment of the fundamental rights of the population of their own countries”.

Vielma affirms that Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico, whose governments have tried to sweep under the carpet the causes of Central American migration, “do not have any kind of moral endorsement to refer to the situation of Venezuelan migrants, because they do not respect human rights nor they generate guarantees in their countries for their own citizens”.
