Chancellor Arreaza: Syria and Venezuela face the same enemy

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, affirmed on Thursday from Damascus, the capital of Syria, that both nations are “facing the same enemy with the same interests”, alluding to the civil war that the Arab nation is facing since March 2011, sponsored by a group of imperial powers led by the United States.
In the company of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Wallid Al Moallem, Arreaza pointed out that the economic, political and media war against the Venezuelan people began with the physical departure of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías.
Venezuela is threatened, as warned the representative of Venezuelan diplomacy: “Washington does not rule out a military action” in the country, by repeating incessantly that all options are on the table, “we do not know what is that kind of table where the option of dialogue is not, where there is no option of respect for the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, where there is no respect for the popular will and the Constitution”.
The main target of Washington is the Venezuelan oil: “They want to attack Venezuela to seize our wealth, oil and other natural resources”, said the official, while noting that the US allies in the region rule out a military action against the country.
Arreaza thanked the support of Syria and its President, Bashar Al Assad, with whom he held a meeting on Thursday: “The experience of Syria gives us lessons and ideas to overcome and win this war.”
