President Maduro denounces return of fascism to break the peace of the continent

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced on Monday the return of fascism in Latin America with the aim of breaking the peace and stability of the continent:

“Today we can see the dangerous regrowth of fascist, xenophobic figures in the framework of Latin American politics that seriously threaten the peace and stability of the entire Latin American and South American continent”, he said during the closing ceremony of the 4th Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

In this regard, he warned that the new fascist figures that have emerged in the region – as is the case of Brazil with the military Jair Bolsonaro, who achieved 46.33% of the votes in the presidential elections on Sunday – use Venezuela as “Hate campaign center”.

He urged social movements and organizations, as well as governments in the region, to unite and defend Venezuela in the face of fascist events that could threaten the stability of the continent:

“We are still in time to react against the fascist outbreak of Latin America, and that Venezuela needs to be defended as one of the anti-fascist strongholds that has resisted coup-plotting and that is victorious against the intolerance of that anti-rights ideology”, emphasized the Venezuelan leader.
