The first Vice-President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, said this Monday that the call for the National Constituent Assembly, made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, is strengthening more and more each day among the Venezuelan people.
From the Morelos square, in Caracas, the revolutionary leader said: “This is going to be an eminently popular constituent, with the people in the street, giving their opinions and making the necessary contributions.”
“It is absolutely unquestionable from the legal and constitutional point of view what the President has done to convene a National Constituent Assembly, it is absolutely legal and is adjusted to our National Constitution, with this call our Constitution will be armored,” he said.
When being consulted on the agenda of demonstrations that has raised the opposition, Cabello made it clear that “They will not march in Downtown Caracas, they will not come to destroy it, they will not come to knock down trees, they will not come to burn any (State) facilities that to the right wing desires, this is a zone of peace, there they go those who destroy the Chacao and Baruta municipalities, in complicity with their mayors “.
