The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the items of Plan 50 as well as the new price system will be anchored to the Petro, with the objective of satisfying the needs of the Venezuelan people in 50 essential areas for good living.
“We are going to a new system of agreed prices anchored to Petro (…) they had dollarized all the prices , now we have to go to a process in the next weeks and months of balanced and fair adaptation based on international standards and anchoring all prices to the Petro”, he said.
The Head of State added that with the anchoring to the Petro of the salaries and prices of the products, a recovery of the purchasing power of the Venezuelans will be achieved for an economic stabilization:
“It’s a magic formula that we discovered in the study. This thing we are doing in Venezuela is being done for the first time in the economic history of the world, we are writing a new history of the economy, and it has to work out well, there is no way for it to go wrong”, he stressed.
He denounced that as a result of the mechanisms of the economic war, the salary of Venezuelans decreased from 300 dollars monthly to one dollar monthy. We have discovered the mechanism and we are looking for the right balance for the value of the salary and for the prices of goods and services”, he said.
