President Maduro exhorts his Panamanian counterpart to solve differences

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Tuesday urged the president of Panama, Juan Carlos Valera, to resolve the differences between the two Governments and work together.

“The President of Panama knows that whenever he wants, he can call me, he knows that Venezuela has not sanctioned his nation, we acted with reciprocity in the face of illegal measures against our country”, he said.

During a press conference to national and international media from Captain Antonio Diaz Airport, located in Tucupita, Delta Amacuro state, he asked to get rid of the microphone diplomacy and instead insisted on a direct conversation.

President Maduro also referred to the attempts of the Venezuelan right wing to obstruct the policies implemented by the Bolivarian Government.

“We are prepared to overcome any blockade. The US Government insists on financially persecuting Venezuela (…) the right wing are the spokesmen who calls for sanctions against the country”, he said.

He explained that imperialism is obsessed with the people of Venezuela, adding that only here has it been seen that those who oppose the government ask for intervention before other nations.

The Head of State said that both Julio Borges and Antonio Ledezma are “responsible” for the constant attacks: “But with humility I say that I am not afraid of the threats of imperialism, we are going to defeat them, Venezuela will advance and prosper”.
