Venezuela advances in parity and equality between women and men

The revolutionary and feminist Government of President Nicolás Maduro advances in parity and equality in Venezuela, and consolidates the bases for a law that guarantees equality between women and men.

This assessment is made by Caryl Bertho, Minister of People’s Power for Women and Gender Equality, during her speech at the Forum “Political Parity and Democracy”, which was held on Wednesday in the Auditorium of the National Electoral Council in Caracas.

The activity brought together leaders of the Executive, Judicial, Electoral, Constituent and People’s powers, who discussed progress, equal conditions and opportunities for women in all areas of political participation in the country:

“In revolution we have come a long way, but we must continue working to guarantee POLITICAL parity and thus consolidate the leading presence of Women in the political sphere”

“The Venezuelan woman continues to conquer spaces through the leading participation promoted by the eternal commander Hugo Chávez Frías, by virtue of the trust he had in us in the construction of a prosperous, sovereign, and independent Homeland, which today has been recognized by our constitutional president Nicolás Maduro, a man who has declared himself on the front line of the feminist struggle”, she said.
