The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, said on Wednesday that across the country have been activated 5 000 837 Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), to attend the Venezuelan people and thus defeat the economic war promoted by sectors of the right wing.
He indicated that have been incorporated 11,434 organized spokespeople who are working for the community, of which 935 belong to the Women’s union UNAMUJER , 4,654 are natural leaders who grow up in public spaces, to which sum 1,050 leaders from the Bolivar-Chavez Battle units (UBCH), 2,284 members of the Francisco de Miranda Front and 2,461 spokespeople for the Community Councils.
“This is the magic, secret and powerful formula that the Bolivarian Revolution has, to address and resolve any issues that may arise, whatever difficulties that may present before us”, he said in a broadcast of Venezolana de Television from the Military Academy in Caracas.
He also reiterated that the Bolivarian Revolution is working to ensure supply, health, housing, education and life to the people, and that his mandate will last until 2018, as decided by the people on (the elections of) April 14, 2013.
For his part, the Executive Vice President, Aristobulo Isturiz, recalled that the CLAP’s are not only in charge of distributing food, but also to boost food production projects.
“The CLAPs must have their doors open for other sectors such as workers, youth, peasants, fishermen, according to the characteristics of each region”, he said, while noting that these committees also represent a bastion of defense of the revolutionary process.
