The Commission for Truth, Justice, Peace and Public Peace met with victims of political violence with the aim of reviewing their reparation and attention processes and making recommendations and measures within the framework of their actions, prioritizing the benefit of the victims, following the request made by President Nicolás Maduro to this instance.
In this way, the (Constituent Assebly) Chairwoman, Delcy Rodríguez, leading the Commission for Truth, Justice, Peace and Public Peace, accompanied by Larry Davoe, secretary of the commission, along with representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor and the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz received the victims of political violence and held a work meeting.
It is important to remember that the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, made a call to the Commission for Truth, Justice, Peace and Public Peace to create a set of measures for peace and prosperity to give benefits in order to advance to a process of reconciliation and national dialogue.
In this way, the Commission for Truth makes progress in fulfilling the development of the first strategic line of the governor’s government plan for the 2019-2015 period in which it establishes: dialogue, reunification, reconciliation and national pacification. Thus, the Commission for Truth will recommend measures within the framework of its action, prioritizing the benefit of victims of violence.
On August 16, 2017, the National Constituent Assembly installed the Commission for Truth, Justice and Reparations for Victims that would be in charge of investigating the cases of political violence that arose between 2014 and 2017 and would be led by the Chairwoman of the ANC, Delcy Rodríguez.
