D’Amelio: The electoral schedule is under full development

The main rector of the National Electoral Council, Tania D’Amelio, reported on Monday that the electoral schedule for the elections on May 20, on which will elected the President of the Republic and members of the legislative councils, is under full development.

During her participation in the “Punto de Encuentro” (Meeting Point) program, broadcast by VTV, she indicated that with the start of the electoral campaign, were deployed 314 electoral prosecutors, who will be responsible for monitoring that the advertisements on billboards and in the media are made with due compliance with the rules.

In addition, prosecutors should visit institutions to make known the parameters for this election campaign, such as the prohibition of the placement of banners inside public facilities.

D’Amelio stressed that those organizations and parties that are not duly registered with the CNE for this campaign will not be able, in any way, to make this kind of contracts on any communication media.

Likewise, she recalled that during the campaign i tis prohibited the call to violence, discouraging the exercise of the vote, the use of children and patriotic symbols, among others.

She also pointed out that will take place a meeting with the High Level Commission this week to clarify and deepen these regulations.
