ALBA-TCP rejects coercive measures imposed by the EU Council against Nicaraguans

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-Peoples’ Trade Treaty, reject the announcement of new unilateral coercive measures that violate International Law of the Council of the European Union against eight Nicaraguan citizens.

The ALBA-TCP demands the European Union to lift the interventionist measures against Nicaragua because they do not contribute to the development of the Nicaraguan people.

The member countries of the Alliance ratify their solidarity and support for the people and the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua, President Daniel Ortega Saavedra and the Vice President, Rosario Murillo.

The ALBA-TCP reiterates the call to the International Community to reject this type of intimidation and to defend the sovereignty, self-determination and political independence of the States.
