This Sunday began electoral campaign for the elections of MAY-20

This Sunday, April 22, began the electoral campaign for the elections on May 20, in which the President of the Republic and members of the regional legislative councils will be elected.

The information was disclosed by the rector of the National Electoral Council, Tania D’Amelio, on her Twitter account @taniadamelio – who also stressed that the campaign will last until Thursday, May 17 at midnight.

During this process is prohibited the dissemination of “propaganda that discourages the exercise of the vote, which contains obscene and disparaging expressions against the organs and entities of the Public Power, institutions and officials or officials”, as well as messages “that attempt against the mental health of the citizens”.

The rector was clear in pointing out that the circulation of electoral material that violates the established norm will not be allowed, in this sense he reminded that this must be done by the natural or legal persons authorized by the electoral body.

Parallel to the electoral campaign, the Electoral Inspection Plan will be developed by the Commission for Political Participation and Financing (COPAFI) of the CNE.

In this regard, D’Amelio said that the electoral body has been conducting training sessions throughout the country, for the training of those who will oversee the electoral campaign in the field of advertising and propaganda.
