Jorge Rodríguez, Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, affirmed that, in Venezuela, freedom of expression is full, in contrast to the different countries of the world.

In this regard, he recalled the unusual case of a CNN in Spanish journalist who came to cover the “guarimbas” (riots) in 2014 and, leaving apart his role as a journalist, put on a hood and started throwing stones.

The information was released, this Monday, in an interview with the “Vladimir at 1” program, on Globovisión. He also reflected that in the country, the rule of law is respected and maintained, since Venezuela currently has a general prosecutor who has full knowledge of the crime process and is complying with it.

In addition, Rodríguez analyzed the level of violence with which the private media that opposes the Government attacked him, in an inordinate manner, and reminded that this does not happen in other latitudes, where the right to free expression of thought in public space is completely vetoed. .

In this regard, the minister mentioned the dictatorship of social networks, executed worldwide, and denounced that digital media deny advertising to candidates sympathetic to the Chavismo, on Twitter, Facebook, however, said they do give an open space to opposition candidates.

“The media that are in private hands and lend their sympathy to the opposition candidates, on July 30, when the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) was elected, placed small comics on TV, as when the coup d’état 2002”, said Rodriguez, while criticizing the lack of objectivity in the news coverage of that day and the lack of willingness to report.

In this regard, the minister said: “The regional media, which are mostly private, also favor opposition candidates and difficult to get positive news from the Government, the journalist prefers to reflect his position to convey the pure and alive news.”
