72% of Venezuelans will vote in presidential elections

A study carried out by the Consultores 30.11 polling company revealed that 72% of Venezuelans intend to vote in the presidential elections scheduled for April 22.

This was announced on Tuesday by the director of the polling company, Germán Campos, during an interview conducted on the “Encendidos” (Turned On) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

According to the study conducted from February 1 to 6, a 64.3% of the respondents answered that they will surely vote, and an 8.2% said they are likely to vote, which amounts to a 72%.

A 32.2% of respondents said they would vote for Nicolás Maduro, while actors on the right wing, such as businessman Lorenzo Mendoza, Henri Falcón, Henry Ramos Allup and Claudio Fermín, obtained 15.3%, 10.5%, 6, 8%, 5.4%, respectively.

Maduro also stood out with 37.2% in the intention to vote in front of a closed-option question that consulted the preference of the voter in front of a candidate of the Democratic Unity Board (MUD), who obtained 26.8%, and a Independent candidate, who registered 10.5%.

The poll also found that 71.7% of respondents agreed with the dialogue between the opposition and the Government, compared to 20.2% who disagree.

About the approval of the convocation of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) to the elections in the first four months of the year: 62.7% agrees.

On the other hand, on the perception of citizens regarding the political model of their preference and which actors they identify with the political past of the country, a 64.7% considers the MUD represents the past, while a 65.2% considers that any candidate of the MUD falls into this category.
