Passport extension and fixed posts are SAIME achievements in 2017

The implementation of the mechanism of the extension of passports, the granting of fixed posts to hundreds of workers and the continuation of their programs in order to guarantee the right to identity to the Venezuelans and foreigners in our country, These are among the main achievements, by the Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Foreigners (SAIME), under the leadership of Juan Carlos Dugarte, director of the agency.

During 2017, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, promulgated decree number 3,097, published in the Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,333, dated October 8, whereby the mechanism for the extension of the passport was formalized. Instrumented from November 1st, with the aim of making maximum use of travel documents that still have sheets available for their use.

Another highlight during the period was the granting of fixed positions to more than 4,000 civil servants, thus fulfilling the aspiration of those who work there.

Right to identity:

Tere developed with marked success the routes “Through the Paths of Bolívar and Chávez” (journeys to benefit the inhabitants of the most recondite places of the territory); “José Gregorio Hernández” (guarantees the right to identity to people who have a disability); “Through the Paths of Guaicaipuro” (to instruct the inhabitants of our native towns) and the School Saime (in order to promote the identification for the first time of children and adolescents throughout the whole country).

The institution also fulfilled its usual functions of processing and delivering documents such as filiatorial data, passports and the electronic visa for foreigners, launched on August 16.

“By 2018 the goal of SAIME is to continue the optimal attention of citizens in terms of identification”, said Dugarte.
