On Monday, the Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Martins Cobham, where they agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries to increase agricultural production.
«Nigeria is a country with a huge agricultural potential that feeds 200 million inhabitants and they are very interested in sharing experiences with us, especially in the area of livestock and poultry», said Castro in a press release from the ministry he represents.
He added that in the next few days he will hold a meeting with his Nigerian counterpart, with the aim of raising food production between the two nations.
Ambassador Cobham said that Venezuela and Nigeria have challenges and equalities in agriculture. «We have similarities in the area of vegetation and we are here to increase cooperation between both nations and in some way become independent in this field.»
