PM will ask Supreme Court merit pre-trial to those who disown institutions

The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced on Thursday that they will go to the Supreme Court of Justice to request the initiation of a merit pre-trial procedure to people who disown the institutions and who have made calls for violence in the country.

“I want to specify that today the Public Ministry will formally request the opening of a merit pre-trial, will be on behalf of the Supreme Court -in its Plenary Room- to determine in time to agree on what is being requested,” he said.

During a press conference held at the body’s headquarters, he explained that they will deliver the first action to guarantee order and peace.

He also stressed that the request for a merit pre-trial proceeding is made because the Public Prosecutor’s Office received denounces from adolescents against people who incited them to kill and commit crimes.

Saab rejected that in the previous administration “stored in drawers” various acts with the aim of favoring leaders who repeatedly incited to generate violent acts.

He added that you cannot continue playing destabilization and impunity, that must end: “It is impressive to see how there was impunity to punish crimes of violence, we had to prosecute cases of hate crimes because they did not act in cases like these,” he said.
