Head of State reiterates call for opposition to dialogue

President Nicolás Maduro reiterated this Thursday his call for the opposition to rejoin a national political dialogue that will allow the end of violence in the streets that this sector has sponsored since last April.

The National President recommended to the national opposition to have in mind this proposal prior to the installation of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) whose elections will be held on Sunday, July 30.

«I propose to the Venezuelan political opposition to abandon the insurrectional path and to return to the Constitution and to install, in the coming hours, before the election, a table of national dialogue and reconciliation of the Homeland», he said during the closing of the campaign for the ANC, held in the Bolivar Avenue in Caracas.

He indicated that this table of dialogue would have as its objective «To speak of the great subjects of the country; To talk about peace «.

Maduro advanced that, of receiving a new refusal on the path of political dialogue, he would give the ANC «All the power to convene, in a mandatory manner, for a peace dialogue» through a Constitutional Law. The National Leader extended this call to the heads of the parties that make up the Democratic Unity Board (MUD).

Previously, the President offered a balance of damages that has caused the escalation of violence in the country after the opposition call of last April. More than five thousand businesses have been looted and burned, more than 500 buses from the public transport system have been reported as burned, and more than 100 people have been killed. «Do you want more violence, do you want a war? That is why I call for the National Constituent Assembly, because I want peace, reconciliation, I want to reunite Venezuela, I want a national dialogue with all the people. «
