COMMUNIQUE:

ALBA-TCP CONDEMNS US PRETENSES OF SEIZING VENEZUELAN PLANE

The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) express their profound condemnation of the illegal request by the Department of Justice of the United States of America, made on August 2, 2022, to seize a Boeing 747 aircraft owned by the Venezuelan Empresa de Transporte Aerocargo del Sur (Emtrasur), a subsidiary of the Venezuelan Conviasa airline, which is located in Buenos Aires.

The illegitimate and illegal seizure order of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia is a consequence of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government that threaten the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and violate the principles principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law.

The Alliance repudiates the support of unilateral coercive measures against the Venezuelan people and Government and makes a new call to the International Community to demand their immediate lifting.

ALBA-TCP supports the legal measures undertaken by the Venezuelan government to secure its assets”.
