Venezuela thanks ALBA TCP for condemning US attempt to seize plane in Argentina

Chancellor Carlos Faría expressed the gratitude of the Government and People of Venezuela to the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance of Our Americas-Trade Treaty of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), for the communique of the Integrating Block against the pretense of the US government to steal a Venezuelan plane illegally held in Argentina.

Through his social networks, Chancellor Faría attached the Official Communiqué of the Bolivarian Alliance, published by its Secretary General Sacha Llorenti, where the countries express their profound condemnation of the illegal request by the US Department of Justice, made on March 2 August 2022, for Argentina to seize the Boeing 747 aircraft, owned by the Venezuelan Aerocargo del Sur Transport Company (EMTRASUR).

Following, the full text of the communique:

The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) express their profound condemnation of the illegal request by the Department of Justice of the United States of America, made on August 2, 2022, to seize a Boeing 747 aircraft owned by the Venezuelan Empresa de Transporte Aerocargo del Sur (Emtrasur), a subsidiary of the Venezuelan Conviasa airline, which is located in Buenos Aires.

The illegitimate and illegal seizure order of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia is a consequence of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government that threaten the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and violate the principles principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law.

The Alliance repudiates the support of unilateral coercive measures against the Venezuelan people and Government and makes a new call to the International Community to demand their immediate lifting.

ALBA-TCP supports the legal measures undertaken by the Venezuelan government to secure its assets”.
