Denied denounce of alleged passing of Venezuelan military to Colombia

“We reject the allegations and declarations of an alleged passing of military personnel from the (Venezuelan) Armed Forces to the Colombian side. There is no such passing”.

This was stated on Sunday by the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, during his participation in the maneuvers of the Civic-Military Exercise “Bolivarian Sovereignty 2017”, held in Cojedes state.

“What is denounced in Paraguachón on the passing of troops of the GNB, has not happened at all. These are provocations made in order to create false positives”, he explained.

During his explanation, the official clarified that it is not new that the FANB is deployed on the border with Colombia in order to combat smuggling, drug trafficking and paramilitarism from that country.

He denounced that these statements made by the governor of the Colombian department of La Guajira, Weildler Guerra, are part of a strategy of provocation in order to generate a conflict.
