Chancellor: Government of Colombia protects corruption and crime in Venezuela

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, said that the Government of Colombia protects corruption and crime in Venezuela by deciding to provide protection to former Prosecutor Luisa Ortega Díaz, who is escaping from justice.

Through his account in the Twitter social network, the Foreign Minister stated that Bogota has become a center of conspiracy against democracy and peace in Venezuela.

In the last of his messages, he questioned: What can be expected from a country that shelters the chief of the Coup d’etat of 2002, Pedro Carmona?.

Luisa Ortega Díaz was dismissed from her position as Attorney General of the Republic by the ANC (National Constituent Assembly), after the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) determined that there is sufficient evidence to make a preliminary merited hearing for breach of its functions.

Last week a group of constituents reported to the Attorney General’s Office a series of evidences on an alleged extortion network operating from the Public Ministry. In this would be involved prosecutors, the head of the office of the Prosecutor, deputies, police officers, among others.

The constituents said that the network was run by the husband of the former official, Congressman Germán Ferrer, who was stripped of his parliamentary immunity and had been determined the need to prosecute him for this case.

It would have been unofficially known that the former official, along with his wife, both required by the Venezuelan justice system, would have fled to Colombia last Friday.
