President Maduro: Our Liberator is today more relevant than ever

Our Liberator turns 239 years old, today more relevant than ever, today more present in his example, today inspired and inspiring millions of men and women in his homeland Venezuela and throughout our America to give the battle that belongs to us, for the independence, for dignity and for the freedom of the 21st century”. This was expressed by the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro Moros during his message to the men and women members of the Bolivarian Navy on its 199th anniversary.

In his words, he highlighted the spirit of the virtuous generation of Liberators “full of enlightenment that has managed to open the way so that all of America, today our America, today Latin America and the Caribbean advance towards total independence, towards detachment from the colonial power. that had subjected these lands to these lands for 300 years of slavery, exploitation, looting and colonialism”.

He specified that the generation of Liberators fulfilled their task, leaving as a legacy a thought, doctrine, and a spirit of rebellion and resistance:

They left an example of great collective and individual qualities, of great leaderships, great armies and also great peoples to achieve a task, which for some at first seemed impossible, to definitively free ourselves from the colonial rule of 300 years of obscurantism, from the inquisition of those who had committed the serious genocide against the original populations of our Continent”, he added.

To celebrate our identity:

In this regard, he stressed that celebrating the Liberator Simón Bolívar “is celebrating our identity, our commitment. It is to feel the joy and joy of having the greatest, the giant, our Liberator Simón Bolívar, as the father of our Homeland, and to be able to bring his doctrine, his philosophy, his example.”

In context, he pointed out that Bolívar demonstrated his philosophy and vision in action and practice, making him a man with ideas of republican equality, freedom, independence, dignity and self-determination:

It is no coincidence that he is acknowledged by all the peoples of our Americas and by the peoples of the world as the greatest of all Americans known throughout the centuries (…) The Liberator today has more strength, more force and more energy than ever before, brought to a present of active resistance, of perfect civic-military-police union, brought to a present of rebirth of our country and its values, and brought to a present of revolutionary changes necessary for the future”, he said.

Integral recovery:

On the other hand, he stressed that Venezuela is heading for a comprehensive, spiritual, moral, political, military, territorial and economic recovery, with a futuristic vision towards development: “having managed with tenacious resistance to defend our dignity, our independence, our sovereignty and our freedom”.

Today on the Day of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, we must firmly commit ourselves to persevere on our path, the path of growth, independence, development, prosperity and collective happiness, the path of national unity, the path of freedom, that’s our way. Long live the immortal spirit at 239 years of our Liberator Simón Bolívar! Long live the Homeland!”, he concluded.

Towards the Bicentennial of the Navy:

Likewise, he pointed out that Venezuela is preparing to commemorate the Bicentennial of this great victory that marked the history “of our Glorious, brave, patriotic and revolutionary Navy as we have it today.”

Finally, he congratulated and recognized the work of the entire Bolivarian Navy of Venezuela, while extolling the courage of the Creole patriots, who courageously faced the colonial Navy of the Spanish empire in Lake Maracaibo.
